Advent Calender 2012 {Free Stuff!}

Hello! This year I managed to have my Advent Calender ready a whole 10 days earlier than last year, Yay! I collect little gifts though out the year so that I don't have to rush around for 24 {times two!} gifts last minute.

As we celebrate the holidays in the heat and far, far away from snow and cinnamon-smelling markets, I decided to make a fresh & festive, red & white, mini flag design. These little flags are easy to cut out and can be glued to envelopes, little boxes or paper bags. I found pretty silver bags at Party Spot for R1 each. Decorated each bag with a bit of ribbon {and my beloved double-sided tape}. It was a bit tricky to hang them up, so I used little pegs (with green trees) to keep them in place. The 2 x A4 PDF's with the numbers from 1-24 can be downloaded below.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month {Freebie!}

Hello! Inspiration: Lilli's 2nd Birthday - Ice Cream Theme {Part 2}

Good morning! As promised herewith follows the craft and thank you favours we did for Lilli's Party.

The Craft:  I made a template {that you can download for free below, yay!} of popsicle shapes. Copied it onto coloured card board and glued two-two together with an ice cream stick in between. Then I put together little packets of coloured confetti {yes, yes, I punched away one evening} and stick-on shapes as well as shapes that had to be glued on. Lilli's principal was so kind to borrow me a table and chairs, so I set up a craft station for the kids on the balcony.

The Thank you Favours: I wanted to do something from the heart and not only sweeties. So there were 'real hot chocolate' stars with mini marshmallows. Each girl received an Alice band with a purple felt flower and when I saw the wooden tetrus blocks, I had to get that because Lilli just loves puzzles. To make it a handy toy to go with where ever they do, I made little string-bags. It was packaged in plain white paper bags with personalised matching 'Flag Tags'.

It's is a pillow box that is very simple to assemble and fill. I had mine printed at my local print shop on 280 gsm gloss cardboard and they came out just too beautiful!

Welcome Tags {Free Stuff}

Hello! If 2012 is going to be as fast and furious as 2011 we better be ready, so I am prepared. After A LOT of visitors in 2011 I was inspired to make up some {Welcome/Welkom Tags} to make our guests feel welcome and me {and you) look very thoughtful. Just download the Printable Free File here and print out on white card board paper. Cut out and punch holes in if you like to attach with ribbons or use small wooden pegs. There are 9 tags on the PDF file in 3 different colours.

I love to make our visitors feel welcome with fresh rolled up towels and little something sweet to say : 'Welcome'. You can also attach the tag with a wooden peg onto a kebab stick and stick into a fresh pastry and serve with a wonderful cup of coffee.

Advent Calendar 2011 + Free Printable

One of the beautiful German Christmas Traditions is to count down the days to Christmas with an Advent Calendar. It comes in all shapes and sizes and we also now see them in our shops in cardboard were a little chocolate will await you behind each numbered door. Last year I made one for my husband with envelopes that I printed, filled with sweet gifts and hanged them on a rope. This year I wanted to make something new for our daughter. I am thrilled to share this idea with you, and you can also download the printable numbers here .... it's not to late... you still have a few days before 1 Dec 2011!

Firstly, you can use the numbers on anything from paper bags to plastic holders (as I have used), I think they will look very nice on chinese take away boxes too!

You will need the 2 page print out of the numbers, a frame with a back board, prestic, decifix, 24 little gifts, 24 plastic holders, festive ribbon, double sided tape & tissue paper.

How to:

1. I have put decifix over the printed numbers and then cut it out to make it nice and shiny, but you can also skip the decifix if you want too.

2. I bought a pack of 20 Atchar plastic cups with reds lids (R15 a packet) and 4 bigger plastic holders with matching red lids for R2,30 each. Put a little piece of tissue paper in each cup and fill each cup with a little gift. We bought some duplo blocks & animals, and filled each cup with two block or a little animal, I varied them with some rice cakes and dried apple rings as our little one is to small for chocolate. Close the lids.

3. Stick the numbers to the lids with double sided tape.

4. Stick the cups onto the back board of the frame with prestic.

5. Finish with a festive ribbon.

6. Put it somewhere as part of your Christmas decorations and Voila!

Now I am off to make one for Hubby too!

Father's Day - Free printable

Hello! Things with a baby can get quite hectic and now that she has mastered crawling the scarce peaceful moments has also vanished! Today we practised colouring... (as she is 9 1/2 months old now she was more interested in chewing the khoki pen, but I am sure dad will be very impressed with his card). I made a quick print out that you can print for Father's Day and the kids can colour it in themselves. There is one in Afrikaans, English and German - so take your pic!

Instructions:

1. Download your free printable in the preferred language below

2. Print it out onto white A4 Cardboard (You can also print it out onto a coloured cardboard and then the kids can personalise it with glue and glitter)

3. Hold the print out in landscape format in front of you and fold it in three equal pieces, start by folding the right side to the left to create the 'front' of the card as per the first picture and then fold in the left side of the card to form a 'zig zag' as per the second picture.

4. Colour in the words and personalise as you wish

5. Finish it of with a piece of matching string or ribbon
